*** Production description ***
Sea-Kissed Myrrh was created at The Island Octopus Incensarium. Pure Myrrh gum-resin from Namibia is transformed using fresh sea water from the Gulf of Mexico, the Southwestern Florida sunlight, and coastal breezes. No additional ingredients, artificial dyes, or fragrances were used in the creation of this incense!
Our method for transforming the raw product into Sea-Kissed Myrrh brings out the best qualities of the incense. This form of Myrrh has a higher resin content, which allows for its therapeutic qualities to be released more readily when smoldered on charcoal along with less of a charred smell. By using the coastal elements to transform the raw gum-resin, a unique incense experience is created.
Commiphora tenuipetiolata info specifics: This resin is quite rarely seen and originates from the Namibian desert. As far as I know, there is no traditional incense use of this species. The raw form is almost black, and chars something terribly when used on a charcoal. However, I love the natural unheated aroma of the gum-resin so much that I wanted to try purifying it in the Sea-Kissed method. The result is an extremely sticky black resin, which has an interesting combination of spicy notes (which reminds me of tamales) and dried fruit. It still chars more than I would like, but it is much easier to use in blending and would be excellent for those wanting a very dark and earthy base. I suspect this would blend excellently with Dracaena, Xanthorrhoea, Benzoin, Labdanum and other heavy and rich ingredients. Expect this to arrive stuck together like fresh Guggul Myrrh.
