A roll-on fragrance created at The Island Octopus Incensarium.
You will receive approximately 10 ml (0.34 ounces) of all natural fragrance based in singular essential oils, absolutes, and infusions blended in a jojoba carrier oil. The Island Octopus' rollerball blends are "wearable incense" versions of some of our best-selling traditional incense blends and are perfect for casual use during traveling or daily-to-day activities.
*** Fragrance description ***
Mermaid's Dawn fragrance was inspired by our all natural resin-based incense blend of the same name. Many of the ingredients are the same in both the fragrance and incense versions, with a few variations due to necessity. The original incense formula was divided into five separate perfume accords, with the ingredient ratios being altered to better fit the aqueous medium.
This perfume was brought into existence with the intent of keeping the original spirit behind our Mermaid's Dawn incense intact, and it may stray a bit from expectations when one imagines a mermaid in these modern times. This fragrance marries the mysterious depths of the ocean with the birth of the rising sun, bringing the captivating light of morning to the oceanside.
First and foremost, this is a traditional tree resin based fragrance, with Somalian Myrrh essential oil being the foundation to which all other ingredients are added. This Myrrh provides the deep and mysterious watery depths to which resinous notes such as Brue, Amyris, and others have been added. The fathoms of the deep are further impregnated with other like-minded notes which arise from the addition of Labdanum, Oakmoss, West Indian Bay, and a curious Seaweed absolute. Next, the wooden warmth of Oud melds with the exotic subterranean scents of Kava and Vetiver. As the sun's morning rays provide their warm and soothing caress across the landscape, so does the breath of exquisite Jasmine Sambac and Red Champaca flowers arise with a fleeting sensation of Grapefruit. Acting as a sort of metaphysical net which holds this perfume's various parts together are the alluring and fixative aromas of Vanilla, Coconut, and a delicious New Caledonian Sandalwood.
